That’s why one of the biggest adventures of your academy experience is already built into the program. Pack an overnight bag, pile into the safari vehicle with your cohort and head into Tanzania’s legendary safari country.
Elephants. Lions. Giraffes. Zebras. Endless landscapes. Sunrise game drives. Ridiculously good photos.
It’s one of those experiences that somehow lives up to the hype. And while you’ll also learn about conservation, tourism, wildlife and the communities connected to these landscapes, first and foremost, you’re on safari in Tanzania. Enjoy it.
Culture isn’t confined to Wednesday afternoon workshops. It’s ordering food. Bargaining at a market. Learning why everyone keeps saying pole pole. Dancing badly. Trying something you’ve never eaten. Chatting with your
Driver. Learning greetings. Being invited somewhere unexpected.
Throughout the academy, Swahili lessons, cooking, art, music, dance, local experiences and cultural workshops are there to help you understand more and most of all, have fun!

Leave Zanzibar behind for an epic two-week journey across mainland Tanzania — travelling from the historic Swahili Coast into the Usambara Mountains, through northern Tanzania and Kilimanjaro country, and deep into some of Africa’s most legendary landscapes.
Along the way, experience Bagamoyo, the Usambara Mountains, Arusha and Kilimanjaro country before heading on safari through Ngorongoro Crater and the Serengeti, continuing west to Mwanza and the shores of Lake Victoria. Mountains, safari, road trips, culture and one enormous adventure with your Academy crew — before flying home to island life in Zanzibar.
