Experience northern Tanzania as your home, not simply somewhere you visit. Discover its people, culture, wildlife, landscapes and everyday life.
Combine meaningful placement experience with global citizenship, personal development, travel and a structured learning journey.
Boresha Maisha means “Improving Lives” in Swahili – but from the beginning, we’ve believed that meaningful change doesn’t come from quick fixes, handouts or simply sending more volunteers. It comes from education, understanding, local leadership and building the skills and capacity that allow people and communities to create change for themselves.
That philosophy has shaped everything we do – from the locally led organisations we partner with to the way we prepare, educate and support the people who join us. The Global Adventure Academy is the next evolution of that mission: creating a more responsible way to experience, learn and contribute abroad.
A world where international volunteering and internships strengthen local capacity rather than dependency – creating meaningful learning for participants while supporting locally led, sustainable change.
To connect students with local experiences that build confidence, practical skills, global perspective and responsible citizenship.
This is more than a traditional volunteer trip. Boresha combines real-world experience, personal growth, global citizenship learning and adventure into one structured 12-week journey.
Work consistently alongside local professionals and organisations through your chosen pathway.
Live in Tanzania and experience everyday life, culture, food, language, social life and adventure!
Build confidence, independence, resilience and perspective through reflection and life beyond the familiar.
Understand context, ethics, sustainability and meaningful contribution before taking action.

It was an amazing experience. Starting with the hostel, it’s a beautiful place; the rooms are for 6 or 8 people, and even though they are not the largest, you’ll make wonderful memories and friends with your roommates. The staff is really friendly and they will make you feel at home. They are always there to help you and support you throughout the whole experience, and you are also going to have a lot of fun with them! The kids are the cutest ever, welcoming, and loving. In a very short time, you’ll develop a strong and deep connection with them. I really loved the time that I spent with my kids, and even though it was just in the morning, it was the best part of the day. They don’t speak English, but they will find a way to make you understand what they need, and they are also going to teach you some key words in Swahili! The hostel, Paje, the staff, and the other volunteers will become your second family and home.
Tanja
I volunteered with Fursa Projects, at a local school, working on helping develop a more set sports program for the students in the primary school. This was a really great experience, as I got to learn about the school system in Tanzania more, and by helping with a sports based program, we were able to really get the kids out from behind the desks in the classroom, doing more active learning outside. It was so enjoyable watching the kids develop skills working in teams, being active, laughing and having fun while at school. I plan on returning again at some stage! The accommodation i stayed was also great and very sociable. The house was really nice, there were outdoor spots to hang out, a bar, comfortable swing beds, a garden and at night it was always good fun meeting people.
